Stop Apologising for Being Human
“I am sorry, can you hold the baby while I use the bathroom?”
“I am sorry, could you make me breakfast?”
“I am sorry, I spilled something again. I am too tired to clean it.”
“I am sorry, I need to rest. Can you watch the baby?”
Pause. Breathe.
You do not need to apologise for your basic human needs.
You have been torn open, body and soul.
You are raw. You are healing. You are stepping into a new life.
You do not owe anyone an apology for being human.
Rest when you are tired.
Eat when you are hungry.
Ask for help when you need it.
You deserve to be held and nourished with the same love you give to others.
It is your right.
You matter too, always.
